Find out what's behind the curtain
It is important to have good antivirus and antispyware programs running at all times and to update the definitions on a regular basis.  I will give you links to free software that you may use at this time.

Clean Up My Computer Now              (see tutorial below)

Makers of spyware and other unwanted software might disguise their programs as anti-spyware or antiVirus tools.
Click the links to the programs below or ask someone you trust to recommend a tool before you download and install it.

  • If you believe YOU ARE INFECTED NOW by malware - then I suggest running Malware Bytes AntiMalware Program - see the link and info below. This is by far the quickest and easiest way to immediately clean your computer.    Install the program from our server or follow the link to the website - download - Install - allow updates - and then disconnect your computer flrom the internet (disconnect the network cable running into your computer). Do a quick scan and restart your computer and then do a complete scan.

  • I would then suggest running the "Run These 1st" programs and understand what is coming into your computer - view the tutorial.  There is also an informational link next to each program.

  • Then continue with your basic cleanup using the utilities below. I usually save the ATF-Cleaner (automatic temporary file cleaner) to my desktop to run as needed.  The other 3 programs I usually run from the website.

  • Once you do a basic cleanup, then install the free version of SuperAntiSpyware, update the definitions (it will prompt you) and then once the definitions are updated, physically disconnect from the internet. Although before disconnecting - now would be a good time to update your antivirus software definitions.

  • Now you may run SuperAntiSpyware and your antivirus program repeatedly until all infections are removed, restarting your computer each time.

Run these 1st: (see tutorial below)

Remove Temp files - with ATF-Cleaner   -

Startup Control Panel - info

Toolbar Cop - Info

HiJack This - info

• Analyzer 1        • Analyzer 2        • Analyzer 3 - (Most Critical)
(Remember - Some Malware is an opinion)

Note: If you have probllems running the above programs, You need the Visual Basic 6 runtime libraries to run most of the programs.
Most systems already have this, but if you get an error about MSVBVM60.DLL missing, get the libraries from Microsoft.com
here .

SuperAntiSpyware
is one of the programs I have been using regularly, since it gets rid of malware that many other programs do not, including my antivirus program.

SUPERAntiSpyware (SAS) is a software application distributed as shareware which can detect and remove spyware, adware, malware, trojans, rogue software, worms, rootkits, parasites and other potentially harmful software applications, as well as restore modified system settings. It can detect malware, however it is not designed to replace an antivirus software.

SUPERAntiSpyware is updated several times a week, normally daily or every few hours
